Erik Wickstrom, MSc

Erik Wickstrom is the CEO of ClearWorld Now. Erik has been a most active entrepreneur and venture capitalist over the last two decades. He has been involved in founding, building, and listing companies such as Icon Medialab, Speed Ventures, Result Ventures, and most recently China Venture Labs. He has been living in Beijing with his wife and two daughters since 2006. Erik has a M.Sc. and degrees from the University of Stockholm, Harvard, and Lynn University.

Dr. Alex Westlake, PhD, BSc, CEng, MIEE
Director

Dr. Alex Westlake is a Director and one of the founders of ClearWorld Now. Alex is based permanently in Beijing where he has worked since 1998. Alex has ten years’ experience in renewable energy technology development and the utility sector, both in the UK and Asia, with firms PowerGen (now E.On) and IT Power. Alex is considered to be a leading expert in clean energy and the Clean Development Mechanism in China, and was integral to the development of China’s first CDM project – the Huitengxile Wind farm. Alex was a core member of the team that took Camco public in 2006.

Michael R Ashburn, Bsc
Chairman

Mike Ashburn is non-executive chairman of ClearWorld Now and serves on the Investment Committee. Mike is also chairman of the company’s major shareholder ClearWorld Energy and of the largest company in the Group, Camco China, providing overall strategic direction and co-ordinating for maximum synergies between the finance, technology and carbon credit aspects of business opportunities. Prior to founding the ClearWorld Energy Group, he co-founded Peak Pacific Investment Company, one of the most successful foreign investors in China’s electric power sector managing ten Chinese joint venture heat and power companies. Within Asia and specifically in China, his career has comprised general management, infrastructure project development, electric power technology, M&A in China, construction contracting, and fund raising. Mike has lived in Asia since 1986 and in Beijing since 1999.

Vincent Zheng, Bsc, MA
Investment Manager

As Investment Manager at ClearWorld Now, Vincent is responsible for indentifying investment opportunities and conducting investment analysis. Prior to joining ClearWorld Now, Vincent worked in Business Development for Lakewood Capital in the energy sector. He is an Oracle Certified Professional and has worked as an IT/MIS Manager with a number of foreign companies.  Vincent holds a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science.

Jin Zhu, Bsc, MA
Investment Manager

Jin is responsible for indentifying investment opportunities and conducting investment analysis at ClearWorld Now. Jin previously worked with the Song Lin Group in the Chinese alternative energy, energy services, and coal chemistry sectors. Prior to working in China, Jin spent more than 10 years in business development and executive management in the computer network, software development services, and enterprise software application industries in the United States. Jin holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Masters Degree in Finance from George Washington University.

Jackson Hall, BA
Project Manger

Jackson manages ClearWorld Now’s corporate relations and affairs, including developing Cleantech Thursdays and working with portfolio companies on related activities. Prior to joining ClearWorld Now, Jackson worked at consultant Intercedent assisting clients in government and natural resource sectors develop their China business and strategy.  Jackson also previously worked at the Canadian Consulate General in Shanghai. Jackson has a BA in Political Science from the University of British Columbia and a minor in Chinese language through Fudan University.

Qu Jing, BA
Market Analyst

As market analyst, Jing is responsible for identifying and monitoring market activity and conducting market research and analysis in target sectors. Prior to joining ClearWorld Now, Jing worked in the market research departments of telecommunications company ZTE, and in the energy-services field with Max-Universal. Jing holds a Bachelor of International Business Management from Amsterdam Business School.
